The City Club of Chicago on Thursday hosted a panel discussion on Chicago Public Schools’ 2013 closure of 49 elementary schools and one high school. The panel was made up of Chicago Teachers Union Director of Research Carol Caref, North Lawndale community organizer Valerie Leonard, Chicago Public Schools COO Tom Tyrrell, and Chicago Board of Education members Andrea Zopp and Carlos Azcoitia. Catalyst Chicago’s Linda Lenz moderated the discussion.
