With lawmakers in Springfield unable to reach an agreement on Gov. Bruce Rauner’s proposed budget and business reforms, Alderman Patrick O’Connor (40^th) on Tuesday expressed concern about the effect the statehouse gridlock could have on Chicago’s finances.

Chicago Department of Planning and Development Managing Deputy Commissioner Lawrence Grisham told Chicago aldermen that his department is on pace to meet its annual affordable-housing development goals during a Monday meeting of the City Council Committee on Housing and Real Estate.
