Health care providers, including disability caregivers and substance abuse counselors, are concerned about Gov. Pat Quinn’s “The Path to Transformation,” a five-year plan to restructure Medicaid and get $5.2 billion worth of federal cash in the process.
These providers testified Friday at a downtown Chicago hearing on the proposed overhaul, making their voices heard before the state’s March 12 deadline to apply for the federal funding. Margie Schaps, executive director of the Health and Medicine Policy Research Group, chaired the hearing.
