Radogno opposes paid sick leave, progressive tax proposals

Illinois Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) voiced her opposition on Monday to “paid sick leave for all”-legislation recently proposed by Gov. Pat Quinn.

The proposal, currently being drafted by Quinn’s budget team, would guarantee that all full-time and part-time employees in Illinois have an opportunity to earn at least two paid sick days per year. During his State of the State speech in January, when Quinn introduced the idea, he said that 43 percent of all workers and 80 percent low-wage workers in Illinois do not have access to any sick days.
