Cook County Board spends $11.5 million on cameras for court and corrections facilities

The Cook County Board on Wednesday approved a contract for the purchase and installation of some 1,950 security cameras for Circuit Court and Department of Corrections sites within the county.

The procurement contract, which is comprised of two separate bid packages totaling $11.5 million, was awarded to Elk Grove Village-based Broadway Electric Inc. The firm is expected to complete installation of the cameras within the next10 months.
