Cook County officials are – again – examining what to do with the old Cook County Hospital building that has sat vacant on Chicago's Near West Side since 2002.
The Cook County Board on Wednesday approved a $2.4 million contract with Chicago Consultants Studio, Inc., which will “evaluate current needs, future needs and make sure we have the flexibility for unforeseen needs” at the county building site, according to John Cooke, director of the Office of Capital Planning and Policy at Cook County.
