With a 30-month prison sentence handed down on Wednesday for misuse of campaign funds, former Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr. will probably now forever be linked with political corruption.
Sen. Thomas Cullerton (D-Villa Park), sponsor of a new Illinois law that lets DuPage County consolidate or eliminate unnecessary government bodies, said that the measure can “serve as a template” for more efficient government throughout the state.
