Responding to the June installation of controversial signage on the Trump International Hotel & Tower in River North, Mayor Rahm Emanuel next month plans to introduce an ordinance that would ensure other buildings along the Chicago River and throughout downtown remain free of similar signage.

On Tuesday the Emanuel administration announced the city would partner with federal agencies under a $5 million-a-year initiative to end veteran homelessness in Chicago by the end of 2015.

As part of its effort to end homelessness among veterans, the city will partner with the Chicago Housing Authority, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, according to the Mayor’s Office.
