On March 16, the Chicago Department of Transportation will begin work on projects that will bring faster Chicago Transit Authority bus service and a new CTA “L” station to downtown.
The $32 million “Loop Link” – also known as Central Loop Bus Rapid Transit – initiative will expedite downtown bus travel on six pre-existing CTA routes. Under the project, CTA will install dedicated bus lanes on Madison, Washington, Canal and Clinton streets, according to CDOT Commissioner Rebekah Scheinfeld. The construction project is expected to conclude later this year.
