Ald. Reilly blocks River North hotel development

Alderman Brendan Reilly (42nd) has blocked a planned hotel development on Rush Street in River North.

Developer Albert Friedman of Friedman Properties had hoped to develop at 45-story tower at 740 N. Rush St. containing 620 Hyatt hotel rooms, according to DNAinfo Chicago. The site currently houses a four-story building with a Giordano’s pizzeria on the ground floor.
