McDonald's profit plunges in third quarter

City treasurer to step down next month

Chicago Treasurer Stephanie Neely plans to resign at the end of next month.

Neely announced her resignation to her staff on Monday, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. She was appointed as city treasurer in 2006 by then-Mayor Richard M. Daley. Before moving into her current role, Neely served as a vice president with Chicago-based Northern Trust Corp. She plans to return to the private sector.
