Got the blues? Chicagoist has a photo gallery of some of the best shots from the Chicago Blues Festival, which took place in Grant Park Thursday through Sunday.

Pony up. Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office took to Twitter on Saturday shortly after the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL Western Conference Finals, instructing Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to send Chicago’s bounty to City Hall. Emanuel and Villaraigosa had previously made a friendly wager on the outcome of the series. Perhaps encouraged by Emanuel’s good fortune, Gov. Pat Quinn has made a similar wager with Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. Patrick’s state is the home of the Boston Bruins, who will face the Blackhawks in the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals. The governor whose home team loses the series, which begins Wednesday evening, will have to volunteer at a food bank of the victor’s choice.

Bike crazy. Commuters participating in Bike to Work Week may be excited to know that Chicago was featured in Bicycling magazine’s July 2013 print issue for its plan to add 13.7 miles of protected bike lanes in 2013 and 2014. If everything goes according to schedule, Chicago will add more miles of protected bike lanes than any other city in the country by the end of next year. The city currently has about 200 total miles of bike lanes and plans to add 445 more miles of lanes by 2020.

Dish. When people talk about Chicago-style deep dish pizza spots, a few big names typically dominate the conversation. But those looking for something different should check out CBS Chicago’s recently-released list of the city’s best deep dish pizzerias. These are not your ordinary tourist destinations.
