America offline. Social media may be all the rage these days, but there's just no replacement for real face-to-face interaction. City Club of Chicago, Technori and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce are among some of the local forums highlighted by Crain’s Chicago Business where policy wonks, techies and business people alike can meet, greet and mingle with like-minded individuals.

Bottoms up. Gov. Pat Quinn on Friday signed into law a bill that doubles the amount of beer Illinois craft brewers may produce annually, to 930,000 gallons. That’s 7.44 million pints.

Tastes like chicken. Ever wanted to eat a llama? Well, according to Chicagoist, now you can. Frontier, the Noble Square eatery that prides itself for its eclectic menu, will be serving up the South American camelid at its eighth annual “So You Think You’re a Foodie?” dinner party on Aug. 28.

Rainbow Beach club. The Rainbow Beach park, located along Lake Michigan at 77th Street, is known to attract some characters. A former Chicago alderman and a hall of fame athlete are among those that frequent the park to play handball, take a dip in the lake and barbecue. DNAinfo Chicago writer Mark Konkol provides a look at the storied South Side hangout and some of the regulars that can be found there.
