Job insurance

Three Chicagoans were selected for the Midwest region section of Business Insurance magazine’s “40 Under 40” list of insurance professionals. The list, which was released on Monday, features the following Chicago professionals: Patrick Sheahan, managing director of insurance services for Mesirow Insurance Services Inc.; Joshua Warren, vice president of global risk, technology, innovation and marketing for Equity Risk Partners Inc.; and Randi Harwood, vice president of Willis Risk Solutions.

Marathon tips

DNAinfo Chicago provided a list of some of the best spots to view the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday. According to DNAinfo, fans can get a good view of the action on Michigan Avenue as runners pass below on Grand Avenue during the first mile of the race. The publication also suggested watching the race from Broadway Street in Boystown at the race’s eighth mile marker and at mile 19 along 18th Street in Pilsen.

Truckin’

The City of Chicago Food Truck Rally is being held downtown in Daley Plaza until 8 p.m. tonight. Beavers Coffee & Donuts, Bridgeport Pasty, Chicago Cupcake, Chicago Lunchbox, The Salsa Truck, PorkChop, the Fat Shallot and Jerk 312 will be serving up the fare.

Ventra venting

A parody twitter account has been created to provide some comic relief for the bumpy implemenation of the Chicago Transit Authority’s new Ventra fare card system. Among the tweets from @chicagoventra are: “With #Ventra, riding the #CTA is easy! Just tap, wait, tap, tap again, tap one more time … you know what? Maybe just wait for the next one”; “We know. We’re not happy about us, either”; and “Maybe start saving for a car?”
