Young Rahm. WBEZ reporter Lauren Choolijan provided a glimpse into the life of a 25-year-old Rahm Emanuel through her recent interview with the mayor. While living in a $330 per-month Lakeview apartment, the young Emanuel would ride the “L” train to and from grad school at Northwestern University. Before returning home to do his homework for the night, Emanuel would pop into the neighborhood pizza spot to grab a slice for dinner and eat it while walking to his apartment. “Is that pathetic?” the now devout dietarian asked.

Daaaa sausage. In a partnership that only Bill Swerski’s Super Fans could dream of, Chicago-based Vienna Beef teamed up with former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka to create Ditka Sausages. The sausages are on sale now at Chicago-area Jewel-Osco and Mariano’s stores, according to NBC Chicago. “Da coach’s” sausages come in two varieties – hot beef Polish Sausage and chicken sausage with mozzarella and sun-dried tomatoes. They will eventually make their way to Ditka’s restaurants, Gold Coast Dogs, America’s Dogs, Mickey’s Hot Dogs, Arlington Racecourse, the Vienna Beef Factory Store and Soldier Field.

Action! With Chicago being home to six TV shows currently, in addition to the upcoming "Jupiter Ascending" movie that is being filmed, it's a safe be that most Chicagoans have seen at least one crew filming around town this year. Location managers Liz Goldsmith (“Crisis”) and Natasha Parker (“Chicago Fire”) gave Crain’s the inside scoop on scouting the perfect Chicago locations. The four other Chicago-based television projects are: “Betrayal,” “Mind Games,” “Chicago PD” and “Sirens.”

Museum to museum. “David Bowie is,” the exhibition on the career of London-born pop star David Bowie, will begin making its way around the world next week. The good news for local Bowie fans: Chicago will be the only American stop for the exhibition. After closing up shop at London’s V&A Museum on Sunday, the exhibition will head out to Toronto and Sao Paulo before arriving at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art next year. The display – which will be featured at the MCA from September 2014 through January 2015 – features over 300 items, including handwritten lyrics and original costumes, according to the Associated Press.
