Illinois Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) on Monday said the affect Gov. Bruce Rauner’s proposed 2016 budget will have on the state is “not pretty.”
Rauner proposed decreasing funding for public transportation, Medicaid and local government as he aims to close the state’s $6.2 billion structural budget deficit.
While speaking at a City Club of Chicago event on Monday, Cullerton said the governor’s plans attempt to create fiscal stability at the expense of working-class families.
