Lewis contributes $40k to her campaign committee; Fioretti plans Saturday announcement

As she considers challenging Mayor Rahm Emanuel in Chicago’s election next year, Chicago Teachers Union President has contributed $40,000 to her political campaign.

The Citizens to Elect Karen Lewis Mayor of Chicago campaign committee received the contribution Tuesday, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections. The following day, CTU staff coordinator Jackson Potter donated $2,000.
