Cabrini residents sue CHA over future housing plans

Community leaders in Cabrini-Green are suing the Chicago Housing Authority in an attempt to preserve public housing in the neighborhood.

On Thursday, the resident-led Cabrini Local Advisory Council filed a lawsuit against CHA which calls on the agency to keep market-rate units out of its redevelopment plans for the Frances Cabrini Rowhouses, a 584-unit low rise housing complex in Cabrini.
