Hopkins up 10 points on Pattison in latest poll

With one week before Chicago’s runoff Election Day, the latest poll indicated 2nd Ward aldermanic candidate Brian Hopkins has a 10 point lead over opponent Alyx Pattison.

Hopkins received the support of 55.3 percent of respondents to the poll, and Pattison had the backing of 44.7 percent of persons polled. Ogden & Fry conducted the survey Tuesday on behalf of Aldertrack.

Both of the remaining candidates for alderman in the reshaped 2nd Ward entered the race with significant political experience. Pattison, a former attorney with Katten Muchin, got her start in politics as an aide and fundraiser for Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.). Hopkins served as chief of staff for Cook County Commissioner John Daley (D-Chicago).

Hopkins has received the endorsements of three of the four 2nd Ward candidates who did not make the runoff – Bita Buenrostro, Cornell Wilson and Steve Niketopoulos. Stacey Pfingsten, who received 11.7 percent of the vote in the Feb. 24 election, has not endorsed either of the candidates in the April 7runoff.
