Catamaran CEO Mark Thierer will serve as the new chairman of the Executives’ Club of Chicago board. Last week the club announced Thierer will replace Deb DeHaas, who spent two years as chairwoman.
Thierer is the chairman and CEO of Catamaran, a Schaumburg-based pharmacy benefit manager that serves more than 35 million members and manages approximately 400 million prescriptions each year, according to its website.
An email from an employee of the Executive’s Club explained Thierer has served on the organization’s board since 2012.
“We are excited to announce that Mark Thierer, chairman and CEO of Catamaran, has been elected chairman of the Executives’ Club Board of Directors,” Executives’ Club CEO Ana Dutra said in a statement to the Daily Whale. “Mark’s passion for Chicago and his commitment to our mission make him a great fit for this role. He has been a valued and trusted presence on the board since 2012 and we look forward to his leadership.”
The Executives’ Club of Chicago is a membership-based business forum that offers networking opportunities to professional, civic and academic leaders through public speaker events and luncheon programs. Currently on a summer sabbatical, the club will reconvene for the 2015-2016 season in September.
