Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center to host seventh annual Momentum Awards Dinner

The Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center, the nonprofit behind the 1871 technology center, is hosting its seventh annual Momentum Awards Dinner on Thursday.

Scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Radisson Blu hotel, the event will honor entrepreneurs and businesses that helped to fuel the local economy. Thursday’s dinner also serves as a fundraiser for the CEC, which raised $1.8 million through last year’s event.

“The Momentum Awards is our celebration of the Chicago entrepreneur – past, present, and future – as well as a message to the rest of Chicago and the country that the state of business and growth in Chicago is strong, and that Chicagoans are dedicated to making it even stronger,” according to 1871’s website.

IT storage company Cleversafe was awarded The Merrick Momentum Award at last year’s event, Blackline Review reported. That award is “based on revenue traction and near-term growth plans.” Chicago Cubs owner and Chairman Tom Ricketts was honored with the Entrepreneurial Champion Award.

Sponsors for the awards dinner include the J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Family Foundation, the Motorola Mobility Foundation, JPMorgan Chase, Accenture and GrubHub.

Online registration for Thursday’s event has closed, but those interested in contributing to the CEC can email Tom@1871.com.
